Once you've identified an item from the library catalog, you will need to note its call number, location and status in order to find and use it.

Location
Location indicates exactly where the item can be found in the library. An item might be in a special location such
as Reference or in a departmental library such as the science library or a special reading room. In the example
above, at Denison you would go to the appropriate floor of the main stacks in order to retrieve the item. A Wooster
student would need to go to the Science Library. Kenyon floor plans
Status
The status indicates whether or not a book is available for your use. The status "available" or "check
shelves" means the item should be in the library, while an item checked out to someone lists the due date.
An item with the status of "non-circ" or "lib use only" must be used in the library. In the
example above, you should expect the book to be on the shelf at both Denison anf the Wooster Science Library.
